This track will hold many events in 2012, “FAMOUS TOUR OF TIMARU” 9th to 12th January, 6th to 12th April Oceania champs 12, 13 & 14 years Grade 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19 Years Junior World Grade, Senior Grade 20 years plus, Masters grades, join other overseas skaters in one of the worlds skating centers.Masters Quad skating division many Australian former “Tour of Timaru” skaters will return
Using Timaru as a winter training base, or learning the inside of the correct technique & training from World Coaching expetise at the headquarters of the ISA ( International Skating Academy.
From the 1st January 2012 you can experience the speed skating adventure of a lifetime till the 12th April New Zealand Championships road 2nd , 3rd & 4th January Timaru Levels raceway, 5th , 6th & 7th January N.Z. 100 meters flat track Indoor championships Aorangi Stadium. N.Z. championships are open to all skaters who are affiliated to there national body & have a sanction to race in New Zealand.
28th January Waimate sports carnival, note N.Z. marathon champs Palmerston North same weekend 29th January, Waimate is close by to timaru Half an Hour & Palmerston North in the North Island.
February N.Z. Bank track championships at Blenheim at the top of the South Island, a weekend trip by motor Vechicle Friday to Sunday, see the beatifull Kiakora Coast & seal colony on the road trip.
During March proposed South Canterbury Bank track champs, Canterbury & South Island Bank track champs events either in Timaru or Christchurch 2 hours north.
Then the Oceania champs Timaru Track 6th to 10th April 2012 & Road Marathon, but open to skaters from other countries, this year will be the biggest & best event held to date.
