N.Z. News & Asia Racing with N.Z.

Hi All,

While the Worlds may be over N.Z. Skaters were very busy around the World last week, Peter Michael won the Jeonju Korean Marathon. Nicole Begg had to turn down the invitation to compete & has not been able to train effectively since Worlds.

In the Big Berlin Real marathon Scott Arlidge was 9th, Reyon Kay 12th & D.J. Nation 32nd. The mens race was won by Frenchman Ewan Fernandez, with Swiss Giant Roger Schneider 2nd & Julien Levard 3rd, both Frenchman have been consistant performers usually in the shadow of other countrymen or teamates, so good to see them both up on the podium & once again big Roger performing well in Berlin.

The ladies was won by Sabine Berg Germany from Giovanna Turchiarelli Italy & a pleasing result for many New Zealand people with Tina Struever Germany 3rd, Tina spent a Summer in Timaru training when we were rebuilding the club & was very popular with the local community skating & Cycling.

A Group of 17 will leave N.Z. to link up with myself Peter & Samantha Michael in Haining for the WIC event 5th October, then after the WIC will race on the

Haining Bank track 6th & 7th October,

then Kuala Lumpa Malaysia 3 pm to 7pm Kiang Stadium on Sunday 9th.

then Singapore 6pm to pm Sembawang Jututung Hardcouts on Wednesday the 12th,

then racing in Indonesia 15th & 16th October. ( Palembang if SEA tracks completed. )
