World Inline Cup – Media Release:

Valencia Welcomes International Inline Elite

Valencia, 15 April 2011: A selection of the world’s best Inline Skaters is gathering for the first time in 2011 at a World Inline Cup event when this Sunday the TOP Class race takes off at 11:00 a.m. In the women’s race it seems to be as if the stage is set for another exciting head-to-head between the defending World Inline Cup Champion Giovanna Turchiarelli (Alessi World) from Italy and New Zealand’s star athlete Nicole Begg (X-tech MPC-International).

Nicole starts her quest to be on top of the ranking in Spain’s third largest city after being hold back by injuries in the last 3 years. Now the World Inline Cup is her priority. She won 11 medals at World Championships with some of them being gold, but it will be anything but easy already in the first race: last year’s number one Giovanna Turchiarelli will be the girl to beat in the capital of the autonomic Province of Valencia.

The 27-year-old Italian has won the Official FIRS Roller Marathon Tour in 2010 after finishing first at the prestigious Berlin event and the final in Buenos Aires. Before in Chuncheon, Korea, Nicole was first to cross the finish line in a thrilling sprint decision far ahead of the pack, but can she repeat it again this weekend? Or is Renata Karabova (IDEEprint-EOSKATES) from Slovakia – fifth of the 2010 World Inline Cup Ranking – finally taking advantage of the situation? This way or the other we are looking forward to an exciting event as the weather report is promising perfect conditions for athletes and spectators alike.
